Music became a new language to learn. In 1996, a move to the Chapel Hill area created a new love for music, and he began playing bass guitar in a few local bands. In 1999, a move to the Charlottesville area served as a vehicle to perfect the craft of playing music. In 2004, a broken right wrist began a decade away from music. Around 2015, he met Jay Brumback and started playing bass for Brother John & The Disciples.

Chris has played drums for 27 years. He got his start playing drums as part of a sixth grade elective course, and played throughout middle school and high school in concert, symphonic and jazz ensembles. Towards the end of high school, he began to play in bands outside of school. He has been in cover bands and bands that play original music. His tastes in music vary from classical to country to rock to funk. He has lived all of his life in the Scottsville, VA area, except for a 4 year hiatus for college at Hampden-Sydney College.
